Savannah's Baptism Day

We had such a great day on Saturday! Savannah was baptized by her dad and they both did so well. I was really proud of her for not freaking out and for going all the way under the first time. She didn't even seem nervous. Robby's dad gave a great talk on Baptism and our friends' daughter, Bailey was being baptized too and so he and Bailey's sister Jackie sang and the whole thing was really great.

Savannah's friend Aubrey came to see her get baptized

After the baptism we had a party at our house for all those who came and it was a lot of fun. We feel so loved and we are so glad that so many of you were able to come help us celebrate this important day in Savannah's life. I wish I would have taken pictures of everyone though.

It's a new pink CTR ring!
We finally got a famiy picture. We tried at the church, but it didn't work out getting so many in the same place at the same time.

The wonderful food that everyone brought

Savannah and me. I'm so proud of her!

I'm so glad that Savannah made the decision to be baptized and that she is now a member of the church. I know that her Heavenly Father is very proud of her also for making this choice and I hope she will continue to follow this path and do what Heavenly Father wants her to do because I know this will make her happy. We love you Savannah!

Savannah's Calendar

Awhile back I made a dry-erase magnetic calendar and it was a lot of fun to make. Ever since then Savannah has wanted me to make one for her, but the metal to make it magnetic was kind of expensive so I hadn't done it yet. Well, last week my Mother-in-law found these metal Santa decorations on clearance for $1 and she bought one for Savannah so we could make her a calendar. She even gave her some really cute scrapbook paper to use. Savannah was so excited!

We started with printing the months and days of the week to make into magnets with a roll of magnet tape. Savannah picked which font she wanted and we figured out how big to make them and then we printed them, laminated them and cut them out. Then we put the pieces of magnet on the back of them. Next we figured out how big we wanted the calendar to be and figured out the measurments for the squares on a blank piece of paper.

The cheap piece of metal for the calendar.

Here is all the stuff we used.

Savannah was very excited to get it all put together.

I started with drawing the lines on the center piece of paper and Savannah glued it in place. (In hindsight, I would start with the outside and then put the center piece on after to hide any mistakes in piecing together the outside.)

After we got the center glued on we cut and glued the pieces for the outside out of the cute paper from Grandma Waters. Then we laminated the whole thing to make it be dry-erase. Then Savannah had fun putting the month and number magnets on.

The last step was to glue ribbon around the outside to finish it off and then I glued some more ribbon at the top to use for hanging.

Savannah was very happy with the result.

Zoo Trip

Last Saturday we were able to enjoy the rare 70 degree March weather and go to the zoo with Grandma Waters, Aunt Lisa and our two cousins Rebecca and Gabriel. It was so much fun! The weather was great and although it was a little crowded, we had such a good time seeing all the animals, spending time together and playing outside. Enjoy the slideshow.

Tribute to Savannah

I wanted to do a post to remember the past eight years with Savannah. It took a lot longer than the one I did for Will because we didn't have a digital camera until Savannah was about 4 years old so I had to dig for the pictures from her first four years through boxes of pictures from the stone age when we had to actually go and get them developed. Thank goodness we don't have to deal with all that anymore! So I thought I would just find one picture from each year of her life and call it good, but I had so many cute pictures of her that I had a very hard time deciding which ones to use. I pretty much used all my favorites which meant that I ended up with a lot of pictures on this post. I feel kind of bad for my boys because they haven't had their picture taken nearly as much as Savannah has. Oh well. I guess they will just learn early that life is not fair and Savannah will learn that there are some advantages to being the only girl.

This first one is when Savannah was 1 day old. She had an infection and they had to give her an IV in her head which was one of the saddest things I had to see my newborn go through. She was in the NICU for a week and then we were able to bring her home but we still had to do Home Health Care and have a nurse come to the house for another week after that. It was a very rough first month together.

We somehow made it through the first month and then we were very happy when we were both feeling better. This is Savannah at one month old.

Savannah was blessed on May 6, 2001 in the same dress that I was blessed in. It was a great day.

Savannah was about 6 months old in this picture and this is when her sweet personality started to really come out. She was always smiling and we would do anything to get her to laugh.

Savannah at age one. She was just taking her first steps and she was a very good talker already at this point.

Easter 2002 we discovered she had inherited my sweet tooth. She was very excited about her basket full of candy.

Two years old and still so beautiful.
I think she was about 2 1/2 in this one.

Three years old. She was such a sweet little girl.

Three years old and very excited to be a big sister. She has always been a really good helper with her two brothers and she is still such a little mother.

For Savannah's fourth birthday party Robby drew a castle on a big piece of paper and we hung it on the wall and gave everyone a crown from Burger King to decorate. This is Savannah with her cousin Alex at the party. She still loves being a princess.

Savannah's fifth birthday we had a treasure hunt for all of her friends. She loves a good party, especially when there are lots of gifts for her involved.
Savannah's sixth birthday. She wanted to pose with her new pillow and blanket.

Last year when she turned seven we went to Disney Princess on Ice with one of her best friends, Aubrey and her mom. The girls had a blast!
And finally, her newest school picture. My big eight-year-old. She is such a sweet, loving, helpful girl and we are so happy that she came to our family.

Savannah's Birthday Weekend

My little girl turned 8 on Sunday. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. We celebrated all weekend with her. On Saturday we took the kids to Clearfield Aquatic center to go swimming. It was a lot of fun. The kids had a blast going on the waterslide and playing on the kiddie slide and swimming in the lazy river.
After swimming we had lunch and went to the mall because Robby had an appointment for an eye exam and while we were there I asked Savannah if she wanted to get her ears pierced. I thought she would say no because she tries to avoid anything that involves pain, but to my surprise she said yes. So she picked out some little gold heart earings and we got them pierced. She was really brave and didn't even cry, but afterwards she told me it felt like they had stapled her ears and it hurt more than she thought it would.

The Birthday girl with her new earings on Sunday morning

She opened presents on Sunday morning before we went to church. We were supposed to have Stake Conference this week which would have been at 9:00 up in Ogden at the Tabernacle, but my sister, Heather, had her baby on Friday and so we ended up going to my parents ward at 11:00 to help with Heather's two boys while my mom spoke in Sacrament meeting. It worked out really well because it gave us time to have a nice big birthday breakfast and open presents before church. Plus it was fun to hear my mom speak and to visit my old ward.

She got a new spring dress and a couple pairs of sandals to go with it.

We even had time to paint her toenails before church. She looked so cute. I wish I would have taken a picture!

After church we had dinner with my parents and my sister and her family and we got to meet the new baby, Lily. That was a lot of fun and good food as always. Then it was time to come home and have cake and ice cream with Robby's parents who came up to visit the birthday girl.

They brought a present for her and it was a new set of scriptures. She told me it was her best gift and she was really excited about it. Robby even caught her reading with a flashlight in bed last night after she was supposed to be asleep. It's pretty hard not to be happy about that.

She is so excited her new scriptures have her name on them

We had cupcakes and the kids frosted and decorated their own. It was a lot of fun and I'm so glad we have family around to celebrate with us.

Potty Training Update

I hate to put this in writing for fear of jinxing myself, but I think he's finally got it! Isaac has kept his bed dry at night and at naps for 8 days in a row and he has been peeing in the potty by himself pretty well for awhile now. The problem was with the pooping. He was just pooping in his pants every time and not even TRYING to poop in the potty at all. I was so frustrated and I had no idea what to do about it.
So on Sunday we went to church at my parents ward and Isaac went to the nursery there by himself just great but about 10 minutes later the teacher came to get me because Isaac had pooped in his pants. Luckily I was prepared for this and I got him all cleaned up and he went back to nursery without a problem. A couple hours later at my parents house Isaac was running around with the other kids and he pooped in his pants again. I was so mad and frustrated! I cleaned him up again and sent him to play some more. About 30 minutes later he came and told me he had to go pee so I was helping him and he pooped in the potty finally! I made a really big deal out of it and he got lots of positive feed back from Grandma, Papa, Aunt Heather, Daddy and me. I think he finally understood and decided to poop in the potty because he did it yesterday and today by himself! I'm sure we'll still have a few more accidents before we're through, but I think we are finally on the downside of this mountain.

Food Storage

We decided we better spend some of our tax refund money on beefing up our food storage. The biggest problem for us now is where to put it all. I REALLY wish we had a big storage room where we could store it but for right now it will have to be under the kids beds, in closets and I even put a bunch of it behind the couches and under the side table in the family room. I guess it is just good that we have it and I shouldn't worry about how my house looks with it all stashed everywhere.

The kids had a lot of fun climbing on the huge pile for the few days that it was in the middle of the floor. I couldn't keep them off of it.
We also got a wheat grinder for $60 at Smith and Edwards. I wanted a big fancy electric one, but we decided it was more important to have a hand one that we could actually use in an emergency where there was no power. I have been really happy with it so far. It does a great job and it is not too hard to turn. The kids were even able to do it by themselves. And it only takes about 10-15 minutes to make about 3 cups of flour so not too bad. Plus it is much easier on the ears than the electric ones.
My sister Amberly came over on Friday and she showed me how to make the bread that she makes for her family every week. I had tried it on my own and it didn't turn out so great. It tasted great, but it was only about an inch thick. Not exactly what I had in mind. So she came over and spent the afternoon with me. We had a great time chatting and baking while the kids ran around together. It was a lot of fun! Thanks again Amber. And the bread turned out GREAT! I should have taken pictures right after I made it, but I didn't think about it so this is what it looks like after being in a tupperware for two days. A little smashed but oh well. . .

It Finally Fits! Well, Almost Anyway

My handsome boys after church today.

Will has been waiting forever to wear this suit. It is a hand-me-down from his cousin Alex and ever since we were going through the box of clothes and he saw it (several months ago) he has been dying to wear it. He asks almost every Sunday, but it has always been way too big for him. Well, it's still too big, but it was close enough today that I let him. (Plus with the time change I didn't have time to argue with him and make him change his clothes) He was so happy about it. Thanks Aunt Jaimee and Alex!! He loves it.

Home Depot Saturday

We are loving the Home Depot Kids Craft every 1st Saturday of the month. Here is the picture from last month when we made cute Valentine's Trinket Boxes.

And then yesterday we made these awesome race tracks that came with cars and everything. I think it is catching on though. There were a TON of people there yesterday. You really have to go early to make sure you get to make one. I can't believe they do all this for free. The kids love it, even though yesterday we ended up making ours on the floor.

I took Savannah and Will with me and Robby stayed home with Isaac because of a potty-related incident that morning. Is he EVER going to be trained?! I'm so frustrated!
