He Did It!!

Isaac kept his pants dry for 20 days and earned a gumball machine! He was pretty excited about earning it last night, but not as excited as I am that he might actually have this potty training thing down.

Thanksgiving Program

The first grade put on a cute little Thanksgiving program yesterday and Isaac, Sarah and I were able to go watch Will sing a few songs with his friends. My pictures NEVER turn out from these things, but these two weren't too bad.

Aren't the turkey hats cute?

After the short program the parents were invited to stay and have lunch with the kids. It was a great time spent at the school with Will.

Happy Fall!

Mmmmmm. . . doughnuts!

They're so good you have to get every last bit!

Apparently Sarah doesn't like being forced to lay in a pile of cold leaves. Hmm.
(That's my nephew Boston in the picture with my kids. They had a blast eating doughnuts and raking up the leaves)

Cute, silly kids!

9 Months Old

I never would have imagined that my whopper of a newborn (She was 8 lbs 12 oz for heaven's sake!) would end up being such a petite little thing. How did that happen? (And why couldn't she have been so petite when I was giving birth??!) I took Sarah in for her 9 month check up last Thursday and here are her stats:

Weight: 15 lbs 10 oz 5%
Height: 26.5 inches 17%
Head: 44 cm 49%

She has been in a decline for weight percentiles pretty much since she was born. She was 58% at 2 months, 33% at 4 months, and 17% at 6 months. Aren't they supposed to go the other way? I was very concerned when I saw that she was only in the 5th percentile, but the doctor assured me that she looks perfectly healthy and as long as she is eating and isn't really fussy all the time that she is probably fine. He did say to introduce more table foods at this point and keep going with the breastfeeding and baby foods.

She looks happy and healthy to me

Despite being small, she sure is feisty! She throws a fit now every time I try to change her diaper or clothes. (She doesn't do this for Robby and I'm not sure why I get the special treatment) She is crawling and climbing all over now and she babbles all the time too. A lot of the time it sounds like she is actually saying blah blah blah. She is really turning into quite the mama's girl. She really doesn't like to go to anyone else. Usually she'll just cry for a minute and then she'll be fine though. She loves the bath and I swear she is saying Splash! as she splashes in the water. She loves being around the other kids and they love playing with her too. She is happy much of the time and she keeps us all laughing. She is sleeping pretty well now too. She usually sleeps from 7:30 pm to around 6:30 am and then she'll go back to sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 am after I feed her. She is still taking 2-3 naps every day, but these vary greatly anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 or 3 hours. Her new favorite food is gingerbread cookies. She LOVES them! Who would have thought? She pretty much turns her nose up at any other type of crackers except for saltines. She won't even touch those Biter Biscuits that most babies love. She is usually pretty good about eating cereal, but she is pretty picky about the fruits and veggies.
Before she was born my dad got us the Baby Signing Time DVD and she LOVES it! She gets so excited when she hears the music at the beginning and she will watch the whole thing. A couple of days ago I found her watching under the table. It was pretty cute. I had to hurry to get a picture because as soon as she saw me she started crawling towards me.

We sure love our little Sarah! It's hard to believe she has been outside of the womb for as long as she was inside. Why did the pregnancy seemed so much longer than her first nine months of life?

Halloween!

We celebrated Halloween on the 29th this year because that is just what worked out best for us. Well, we kind of celebrated on the 30th too, but not with trick-or-treating. So, it was Sarah's first Halloween and I think she looked pretty darn cute!

She was a fairy first when we went trick-or-treating at my mother-in-law's office.

She didn't even make a fuss about her costume either. I was sure she would hate it and throw a fit, but she was fine. She loved the wand and didn't really even notice the wings.

A Witch, a ninja, a fairy and a knight

I thougtht Isaac was going to be a ghost for awhile there, but eventually he decided to go with the knight costume Will used a couple of years ago.

Will's costume might look familiar because it is the same one he wore last year, but he was really excited about wearing it again. I didn't try to pursuade him to be something else because it still fit and he was happy about it!

Savannah was a witch, again, and she loved it. Luckily for us Grandma Waters had a costume that fit because she was getting very worried that she wouldn't have one in time.

They're flying!!

So we went to Kim's work and did some trick-or-treating there and the kids loved it! It is always fun to visit Grandma at work and then to get a bunch of candy on top of that was great! It worked out that Richard and Lisa were there with Rebecca and Gabriel at the same time so the kids were excited to hang out with cousins for a minute too. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures at the office. Maybe Richard will share his?
After the office we RUSHED home to make it to our ward trunk or treat. Since we were going to be outside in the church parking lot I changed Sarah into the other costume that Heather let me borrow. (Thanks again Heather! Both costumes were super cute)

A Witch and a Chicken

She didn't mind this costume at all either. What a good baby!

She was very interested in all the candy, although she's perfectly happy to chew on the wrapper and not the candy itself. She did get one sucker to eat over the holiday and she loved it!

Sarah going for Isaac's pile, much to his dismay.
On Saturday the weather was pretty warm so we decided to go on a last-of-the-season hike up by Snow Basin. Most of the leaves had already fallen, but there were still a few. Robby took a couple of pictures and this one was my favorite.

It started raining so we hurried back to the car and headed for home. I made some homemade chicken noodle soup and breadsticks shaped like bones for dinner and then we camped out in the family room and watched the Halloween cartoons that were on TV. It was great!
While I was making dinner Savannah looked outside and noticed a HUGE rainbow. The sky was all pink and purple and the rainbow was awesome! We can't usually see the whole thing, but this time we could.

Also on Saturday while I was making dinner, Sarah decided to try climbing. I keep trying to tell her she is too young to do these things, but like the other kids, she doesn't listen to me.

She was so proud of herself for climbing all the way up.

Happy Halloween everyone!
